The Wildcats season started yesterday on the road vs. the Monroe Redhawks. Opening the season on the road in a hostile environment and leading an offense over the noise of the crowd is not something the Wildcats new QB is used to. It was a tough, tough day for #6 and the boys in green and white. The Redhawks blitzed more often than not and Joey found few opportunities to pass due to the size AND speed of the Redhawks defense keeping pressure on the QB and locking up his receivers. The Wildcats defense kept the team in the game and when the smoke cleared after playing OVERTIME it was a Wildcat win. 12-6 Joey connected on two passes for the day one to the fullback Gilmartin and the other to a very fast Redhawk linebacker (Joey did make the tackle after the I-N-T). Next week is the home opener against Forest Hills, update to follow. Go CATS!
