We had a record breaking number at 99 North St in Hanover this year. The "official" tally was 49!! Peg and Jim were working up until the last minute to prepare the house for the Reale clan, and it looked spectacular. There were some guests that had never been to the event before - Matt, Annie, and Logan all the way from Minnesota, Christen and the kids from CT (braving a blizzard the next day to get home), and those that travelled through a few states to get here - Joe and family from NC, Dave and family from NY, Ann now in DC, and of course the matriarch and patriarch from FL. There was the usual Yankee Swapping and Christmas caroling, lots, let me reiterate, LOTS of spectacular food and sweets. It was fun as usual and the house seemed to survive the crowd. I think it's sort of nostalgic every year to go back to Hanover for Christmas.
The next day brought a blizzard and ended the festivities for those at the Marriott rather abruptly. Mom and Dad weren't able to get home until the following Sunday because of flight back-ups. Happy New Year everyone!!
