The recent rains hit Braintree pretty hard. Jefferson Street was completely flooded and shut down for four days as well as the big Route 37 intersection near our house. Traffic had to be re-routed and my usual 1.5 mile drive to bring Jen to school in the morning turned in to a one hour commute - fun stuff. A few neighbors were evacuated and lost just about everything in their basements and first floor living areas. We got away pretty easy considering - just about 8 inches or so in our basement - no major loss of property just lots of pumping and clean-up. The upside? We have a gorgeous water view out of our bedroom window. The golf course fairways are now rivers, complete with groundskeepers using boats to get around!
