Alessandra's First Communion

Saturday, May 1st, was a special day for the NY Reales, Alessandra's first communion. Mom, Dad, Peg, Jim D, Cathy, and Ken made the trip to Long Island and represented the Reale side. Alessandra looked like an angel and was very excited. The church, St Matthew's, was lovely. The priest who presided over the ceremony was entertaining and he asked the kids how they were celebrating their big day and what they were having for dinner. When he came to Alessandra and she said "Hibachi" he looked a little puzzled and repeated "kielbasi?", after he asked her to repeat it a few more times I think he gave up. We did go for "hibachi" afterwards at a terrific Japanese restaurant. The chefs put on a great show, squirting sake down Dad's throat and flipping shrimp and broccoli into everyone's mouth as they cooked us a delicious dinner. A fun time was had by all. Tammy and David were great hosts and Ally had a big smile on her face all day. Ally was thrilled with all the cards, gifts, and well wishes she got from the family!
