Oktoberfest on Sweetheart Mountain

It was a great weekend in Connecticut, a little windy but lots of fun. The Cuniowski's were great hosts and Pete's family is just as crazy as ours except that they're staunch Yankees/Jets fans. Christen had lots of activities for the kids, a pumpkin hunt, bobbing for apples, arts and crafts, and a ghost pinata!! There was lots of pumpkin and fall beer for the adults, complete with a sampling table. That along with lots of delicious food, a Yankees loss, and pumpkin martinis made for a great day. After the kids were in bed, which took some doing (lots of threats and rewards were promised) the adults sat outside around the fire and relaxed and drank. Christen and Pete hosted 16 people overnight (6 children and 10 adults), every space was occupied.
On Sunday we woke up to coffee and some great NY bagels then went for a hike on the mountain. After the others left Nana spent some quality time with the little ones - teaching them how to play black jack. No, I didn't take all their money, who'd want to? we were playing with Monopoly bills. To cap off a perfect weekend the Pats won!! Christen and Pete are thinking of making it an annual event - maybe next year some Reales will make an appearance.
