She won, but they lost.........

The Braintree Wamps Girl's tennis team took on fierce North Quincy High today in the second round of the tournament. The day started with a bit of drama when one of our players (a Senior CAPTAIN nonetheless) decided she wasn't going to play because her family was having a graduation party for her.

The coach was NOT happy but made a wise decision to move Jen up into her position at first doubles....but then Jen wasn't all that happy to be split from her usual partner.... and her usual partner wasn't happy to be playing with someone from JV that was pulled up to replace Jen. Oy.

As Pete so nicely put it, this would NEVER happen with boys' sports teams. The team would have gone to the kids house and pulled the graduation cake out from under him and made him play.

Anyway......... Jen and her partner played great and won their match 6-4, 6-4. The other doubles team adjusted too, and won their match. Unfortunately all three singles lost so the team lost with a final score of 3-2. Overall still a great season for Jen and the Lady Wamps. With only ONE Senior graduating (wonder if they'll really miss her), next year promises to be a great one as well.

Ok Jen, now let's focus on beating DAD!
